La Paz, Mexico
The Residence Club at CostaBaja

La Paz, meaning “peace” in Spanish, is aptly named.  It is a magical city with a colorful history, where missionaries, adventurers and pirates once passed through. With an “Old Baja” feel, La Paz takes pride in being an authentic Mexican small town and the capital of Baja California Sur.  It is a vibrant city with many cultural advantages that is statistically shown to be one of the safest cities in all of North America.  Known as the Gateway to the Sea of Cortez, which Jacques Cousteau aptly called, “The Aquarium of the World,” La Paz offers an abundance of water activities and some of the best beaches in Baja, in addition to unparalleled sport fishing, diving and boating. And it is easily accessible via non-stop flights from Los Angeles.

La Paz and the surrounding region is a rising star in ecotourism. Both land and water offer a beautiful array of wildlife and diverse geography for the adventurous traveler or simply magnificent scenery for the leisurely vacationer. The Sea of Cortez contains over 900 islands. The Bay of La Paz is renowned for being home to the most precious of these -- Espiritu.

In the traditional zocalo (town square), locals and visitors mingle to experience the essence of this flavorful city both day and night.
